Jessica Fox paddled into unchartered territory over the weekend by claiming two overall World Cup titles at the 2018 ICF Canoe Slalom World Cup finals in La Seu d’Urgell, Spain.

The NSW Institute of Sport athlete continued her best ever season with a maiden K1 title before maintaining her perfect C1 campaign to become the first canoe slalom athlete in history to win every race in a season.

The 24-year-old finishes the World Cup season with a total of eight gold medals (five C1 golds plus three K1 golds) and one silver (K1), having competed in ten out of ten possible finals.

“It’s awesome, yesterday was the first time I’ve ever won the K1 title, and to back it up today, it’s awesome to do the double,” Fox said.

“But the season is not over yet, we’ve still got the World Championships, and that’s the most important one.”

Adding to the NSWIS podium tally was Lucien Delfour who claimed a silver medal in the men’s K1 event.

The Australian team now set their sights on the 2018 ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships which will take place in Rio de Janeiro from the 25-30th September.
