The first day of Freestyle Ski Moguls concluded with direct qualification to the first finals for Australia’s top skiers, Britt Cox and Matt Graham, both finishing in the top ten out of 30.
For the women’s, Cox took 6th place in a score of 76.78 whilst Graham secured 9th in the men’s with a 77.28.
Jakara Anthony (14th), Madii Himbury (15th) and Claudia Gueli (17th) will compete again in the second qualification run in an attempt to make the women’s finals and Rohan Chapman-Davies (17th), James Matheson (23rd) and Brodie Summers (DNS) will do the same in the men’s.
Summers chose not to start the initial qualification run, citing a niggle with his knee. The 24 year old has only recently returned to full competition following his recovery from an ACL reconstruction last year.
The first phase of our first @pyeongchang2018 competition is complete, with @LaffontPerrine and @MikaelKingsbury leading the first 10 ladies and men into moguls finals. Remaining 20 athletes on each side get one more shot before finals! #pyeongchang2018 pic.twitter.com/oXc49yYj14
