The NSW Institute of Sport (NSWIS) is pleased to announce the appointment of Daniel Blattman as its new General Manager, Corporate Services

Mr Blattman returns to NSWIS with an extensive background in high performance sport and organisational leadership, having previously spent almost 15 years with the Institute between 2009 and 2023. During that time, he held several senior roles including Head of Operations and Projects and Senior Coordinator, Sport Programs. He most recently served as Chief Operating Officer at Swimming NSW. 

NSWIS CEO Kirsten Thomson OLY said Mr Blattman appointment comes at a pivotal time for the organisation as it continues to strengthen its operational foundations ahead of the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. 

“Daniel brings a deep understanding of NSWIS, our people, and the national sporting system” Ms Thomson said. 

“His leadership experience, operational capability, and commitment to excellence make him an outstanding addition to our executive leadership team. Daniel will play a critical role driving our organisation towards our ambitious vision for the future.”  

Mr Blattman said he was excited to return to NSWIS and contribute to the next phase of the Institute’s growth. 

“NSWIS has always been a great place for me, and I’m thrilled to be returning at such an important moment for Australian high performance sport, Mr Blattman said. 

“I’m passionate about supporting athletes, coaches, and staff to perform and thrive, and I look forward to working with the team to strengthen the systems and services that enable performance.” 

In his new role, Mr Blattman will oversee key corporate functions that support the Institute’s strategic direction, operational effectiveness, and long‑term sustainability. 

Mr Blattman will commence with NSWIS on the 6th July 2026.
