Rowing Australia hosted 63 talented male and female athletes across its two National Training Centres (NTC) in its first Testing Camp under CampaignNumberOne.

Performance Director, Bernard Savage said the camps had been an integral part of bringing the elite athletes into the new look daily training environment.

“We are really pleased with how well the camps have gone, with the athletes who attended thoroughly engaged and very enthusiastic about being involved,” Savage said.

Following the camps, 27 athletes received invitations to join the NTCs including 14 from NSW clubs, 11 of whom were NSWIS Rowing scholarship holders (see below).

The Men’s NTC is based in Canberra and the new Women’s NTC (supported by NSWIS) is based in Penrith.

All listed NSWIS athletes have relocated in order to forge ahead with their training under the new Head Coaches, Ian Wright (Men) and John Keogh (Women).

It is anticipated that several more returning Olympians will join the NTCs from January 2017 onwards.
