A stage win for Ashlee Ankudinoff in the Battle Recharge at this year’s Subaru National Road Series was the highlight for Team NSWIS, the cyclists performing well on the national stage throughout the race.

The NSWIS Sydney Uni Women’s Road Cycling Team took a podium finish in Stage 1, securing bronze, whilst NSWIS Scholarship Holder Ash Ankudinoff placed first in Stage 2.

The partnership between the New South Wales Institute of Sport and Sydney Uni Sport & Fitness aims to advance female athlete development and provide academic support to riders.

Meanwhile the NSWIS Men’s Road Cycling Team also secured bronze in Stage 1 of their event, with squad member Ryan Cavanagh taking second place finish in Stage 4.

The NSWIS Men’s Road Cycling team is an elite racing team operated by the NSW Institute of Sport. The team is overseen by Ben Kersten in conjunction with NSWIS Head Cycling Coach Brad McGee.

The next race on the men’s 2017 Subaru National Road Series calendar is the Tour of Gippsland criterium series, commencing Thursday 19 October in Inverloch.
