Success on the slopes

It was a busy and successful weekend on the slopes for NSWIS athletes, with competitions in Europe, the USA and Canada all witnessing impressive performances.

At the Mogul Skiing World Cup in Val St Come NSWIS athlete Britt Cox retained her FIS world number one standing in the women’s event, while in the men’s event Matt Graham moved up to third in the world.

Across the border in Latitude, USA, Belle Brockhoff finished sixth in the Big Final, recovering well after an early fall. The result drops Brockhoff back to number two in the world but was still a strong performance. In the men’s event Jarryd Hughes came in 8^th.

Finally in the second Snowboard Slopestyle World Cup of the Olympic qualifying period in Laax, Switzerland Jessica Rich finished in 20^th position – strengthening her chances of making it to PyeongChang next year.
