Toovey reigns supreme at Tour of Gippsland

The Subaru NSWIS Cycling Team has continued its strong season with excellent results at the 2014 Tour of Gippsland.

Competing with riders Nathan Bradshaw, Ayden Toovey, Harry Carter, Sam Jenner and Jordan Payne, the team finished seventh overall on the general standings, with the results highlighted by Toovey winning the overall Young Rider Classification at the conclusion of the event.

Toovey made his biggest move in stage four of competition, erasing a 19 second gap to open up a 14 second lead on his nearest competitors.

He maintained the gap through stages five and six to win the overall title, with the Subaru NSWIS team finishing in seventh place just two minutes behind the eventual winners.

There are just three events left for Subaru NSWIS in this year’s National Road Series, with the next coming at the National Capital Tour in the ACT from 19-21 September.
