Understanding the importance of having a ‘dual career’ option for elite athletes, athlete Ethan Hodson sought out help from the NSW Institute of Sport.

NSWIS Personal Excellence Advisor Rhian Bird assisted him in completing his university studies and getting prepared for life after sport, with practical career advice and support.

The canoe slalom athlete now has a fulltime role at the Sydney Cricket Ground Trust and is making waves; both in and out of the whitewater.

Hodson also now has the backing of his employers to continue his pathway as an athlete whilst working on some important projects for the SCG.
