Backing up on the final day in the 1km Time Trial, Cornish rode a 1:00.489 to not only take out the Junior World Championship title but also to break the Junior World Record.

NSWIS Cycling Performance Manager Brad McGee is impressed with Cornish’s development.

“It’s an absolutely outstanding performance from Tom and a continuance of his constant growth and development over many years” he said.

“I’d like to congratulate Jenny Triggs who has been Tom’s long-term coach. Jenny has been world class and courageous in her coaching of Tom and this result is proof of that.”
