Jonathan Goerlach has claimed a silver medal with guide Sam Douglas at the 2019 Yokohama ITU World Paratriathlon Series.

Competing in the PTVI category, Goerlach was fastest in both the bike and run legs, finishing in a total time of 1:02:49.

The 36-year-old was ecstatic with his performance, describing it as, “one of the best-executed races I’ve had.”

Adding to the podium results was Commonwealth Games bronze medallist Lauren Parker who earned a hard-fought bronze in the women’s PTWC competition despite a disrupted preparation following back surgery eight weeks ago.

Parker finished 54 seconds behind winner and Commonwealth Champion Jade Hall (GBR), shaving nearly five minutes off her 2018 time.

In other results, Nic Beveridge placed a respectable 4th in the men’s PTWC event.
