The FIS Snowboard Junior World Championships begin today in Klimovec, Czech Republic – with two NSWIS athletes leading medal hopes.

Adam Lambert, 19, has won three out of four Europa Cup events so far this season – and will look to continue this form in the men’s snowboard cross in Klimovec.

In the women’s event Georgia Baff, 19, is making a successful return from injury having recorded podium places in six of her past 11 races.

The FIS Snowboard World Championships has a history of success for NSWIS athletes, with Alex Chumpy Pullin and Jarryd Hughes both previously making the podium. These two secured a Team NSWIS World Cup one-two at the weekend, and the young athletes competing this week will be hoping for similar success in the future.
