The Australian Diving Grand Prix was held in hot and humid conditions at Queensland’s home of aquatic excellence, Sleeman Sports Complex over the weekend.

Attracting athletes and teams from China, Netherlands and Australia, the event put on a show as everyone shifts their sights to the World Cup and Olympics in Tokyo.

Nice to finish the year with a solid week and a small PB here at the grand prix in Brisbane Ready for an epic 2020

NSW Institute of Sport divers performed strongly, in particular Brittany O’Brien who secured silver in the women’s 10m platform after a personal best score of 333.00.

Declan Stacey combined with his men’s 10m platform synchro partner Domonic Bedggood for a silver medal also, the pair successfully trialling two new dives in the competition which led to their score of 420.00.

In the same men’s platform synchro event Sam Fricker claimed bronze with his partner Cassiel Rousseau.

Kennedy Cooper reached the semi finals of the women’s 10m platform with a highest score of 278.00, whilst Sofia Knight made it to the quarter finals with a 265.00. In the women’s 3m springboard Montana Richie reached the quarters with a high of 240.45.

Thirteen year old Will Munro and fourteen year old Samantha Scarr debuted at their first Open Senior level competition, both gaining valuable experience to  support their quest for Junior World Championship selection in 2020.
