NSWIS swimmer Matthew Abood has earned selection on the 20-strong Australian team to compete at the 2014 FINA World Short Course Swimming Championships next month.

Abood’s selection came on the back of a medal winning performance at the 2014 Australian Short Course Championships in Adelaide, where he triumphed in the men’s 50m freestyle and took bronze in the men’s 100m freestyle.

The 28 year old has previously competed at the world short course championships, finishing fifth in the men’s 100m freestyle at the 2010 event.

The 2014 FINA World Short Course Swimming Championships take place in Doha, Qatar from December 3-7.
