NSWIS swimmer Matthew Abood has been named on the Australian Commonwealth Games team following an athlete withdrawal.

Abood will replace his former squad-mate Eamon Sullivan on the Australian team after Sullivan withdrew from the Games because of an ongoing shoulder injury.

Abood initially missed out on the Glasgow-bound team following a swim-off with fellow NSWIS athlete James Magnussen in the 50m freestyle, but will now make his Commonwealth debut when the Games kick off on 23 July.
