NSW Institute of Sport (NSWIS) scholarship holder Amanda Reid has finished the Para Cycling Track World Championships with an incredible three gold medals and one silver medal.

“I’m pretty stoked to come home with three golds (500m TT , 10km scratch race and omnium) and one silver medal( 3km IP ). I’m pretty happy as it’s the biggest program I have ever done at a worlds champs,” Amanda said.

The Tokyo 2020 Paralympic champion won her first gold medal in the women’s C2 flying 200 metres omnium race in a time of 13.41sec.

Flurina Rigling of Switzerland in 13.43 and Sabrina Custodia Da Silva of Brazil in 13.89 finished second and third respectively.

She brought home her second gold medal in the women’s C1-2 10km scratch race with Switzerland’s Flurina Rigling, winning silver and Christelle Ribault of France the bronze.

“I would say the 3km IP and 10km scratch races were the hardest races out of all of them.”

Amanda won her third gold medal in C2 500m time trial and she finished the event with a silver medal in the women’s omnium, behind Kate Toft of Great Britain.

“It was amazing to compete in the new indigenous team kit and be part of a team where all athletes came home with a medal.”

Fellow NSWIS athlete Gordon Allan won bronze in the 1000M C2 time trial.
