The success of NSWIS cyclists has continued on day two of the 2017 Oceania Track Championships in Melbourne with Rio Olympian Ashlee Ankudinoff winning her second gold medal of the event.

Riding in the individual pursuit, a day after helping Australia claim the teams pursuit, Ankudinoff (pictured above) stormed to the gold medal in a time of 3mins 34.450secs to edge fastest qualifier Jaime Nielsen (NZL-3:36.290).

“It feels great, I came here with little to no expectations. It’s the start of the season for me after a bit of a break post Rio,” Ankudinoff said.
“I just wanted to come here and have fun and kind of surprised myself with 3:34, IP tonight and then yesterday in the team pursuit we worked really well together and yeah, I couldn’t be happier to start the season off like this.”

In the men’s 1km time trial the NSWIS’s Nicholas Yallouris (NSW) was the top finisher in one minute and 2.848 seconds behind New Zealand trio of Zac Williams, Bradly Knipe and Jordan Castle.
