NSWIS sailor Malcolm Page has added another medal to his cabinet by taking silver with skipper Mathew Belcher at the Miami leg of the 2010/11 ISAF Sailing World Cup.

It had been a trying week for the pair, who had been playing catch up behind two crews from Great Britain. Page and Belcher had everything to gain heading into the medal race, where 10 crews were fighting it out for glory.

The pressure never seemed to overwhelm the pair, who finished in fifth place to secure silver and their fifth straight top two finish dating back to the 2009/10 ISAF Sailing World Cup.

Page and Belcher lead the standings after two rounds thanks to their gold at the 2010 Sail Melbourne Regatta, the first world cup event of the 2010/11 season.

Other NSWIS results from the event include Jessica Crisp’s fifth place in the women’s RS:X, Will Ryan finishing 13th in the men’s 470 and Gabrielle King taking 19th in the laser radial. Nicky Souter, Jessica Eastwell and Olivia Price finished eighth in the women’s match racing, while Katie Spithill, Nina Curtis and Angela Farrell finished 17th in the same event.
