A total of 10 NSWIS athletes have been selected on Australian Canoeing’s national teams in 2015 for representation at various international events.

The team was selected following the 2015 Australian Sprint Championships in Penrith over the weekend, with Olympic gold medallists Murray Stewart and David Smith highlighting selections on the senior national team.

The duo will be joined by fellow Olympians Jo Brigden-Jones and Naomi Flood, with 2014 world championship silver medallist Lachlan Tame and rising star Riley Fitzsimmons also earning selection.

Fitzsimmons was also selected on the Australian under-23 team alongside Rob McIntyre and Ben McLean, while Rachel Duncan was named on the Australian junior team and Colin Sieders was selected on the paracanoe sprint team.

Athletes will compete at a variety of events during the middle of the year before the Australian teams are named ahead of the World Cups and world championships.
