Snow Australia is proud to announce the 2025/26 Snowboard Cross (SBX) National Team, featuring a world-class mix of Olympic medallists, rising stars and some of the most consistent performers on the international circuit.

Following one of the most successful seasons in Australian SBX history, the team is once again stacked with talent and experience, led by seasoned World Cup contenders (and New South Wales Institute of Sport athletes) Cam Bolton (photographed with Mia Clift), Josie Baff and Adam Lambert, alongside Olympic silver medallist Jarryd Hughes as he makes his return to competition.

The 2024/25 season saw Australian snowboard cross athletes achieve record-breaking results, with Josie Baff and Cam Bolton making history by winning Australia’s first-ever World Cup gold medal in the mixed team event in Erzurum, Türkiye. Baff went on to collect a total of five World Cup medals, while Lambert produced a career-best campaign, finishing sixth overall in the World Cup standings and securing three podiums across the season.

Mia Clift cemented herself as one of the sport’s most exciting young riders, claiming her first individual World Cup medal in Mont-Sainte-Anne, Canada, before closing the season with three consecutive podiums, including silver in the World Championships mixed team event alongside Bolton.

The 2025/26 National Team will also feature Amber Essex, who continues to build momentum after an impressive debut World Cup season last year.

Reflecting on her selection, Essex said she’s eager to build on the foundations laid in her rookie year.

“I’m incredibly excited to be joining the SBX crew for another exciting season of racing,” Essex said.

“Alongside our team veterans we also have some new athletes joining us for the season which can only add to our strong team dynamic. As we spend lots of time at home training independently in the gym, being able to come together as a team for the season is always a blast.

“I’m excited to see how the season progresses over the next few months with training camps leading up to our first World Cup in Cervinia, Italy.

“I think with the Olympic year comes some added stress but also so much excitement! Having such a strong team of former Olympians alongside me going into this season is incredibly helpful as they’re able to share their experiences on what to expect in the lead up, and the games themselves.

“The competition field will be strong this year with everyone itching to qualify which will make for some great racing!”

In the National Development Team, Maya Billinghamheadlines a strong group of up-and-coming riders following her standout 2024/25 season. Billingham claimed silver in both the individual and mixed team events at the Junior World Championships and earned 11 top-10 results throughout the northern winter, confirming her status as one of Australia’s most promising young snowboard cross talents.

With a strong mix of experience and emerging talent, the Australian SBX program is well-positioned for another standout year on the international stage.
