Triathlete Ryan Bailie claimed fourth at the London leg of the ITU Triathlon World Series over the weekend to finish as the leading Australian at the event.

The 24 year old, currently sixth in the world rankings, crossed the line in 50:58 to miss out on bronze by just one second from Frenchman Vincent Luis.

The elite men’s event also saw NSWIS athletes Jacob Birtwhistle, Aaron Royle and Brendan Sexton finish 11th, 23rd and 53rd respectively.

The elite women’s event saw NSWIS athlete Charlotte McShane place 16th with Natalie Van Coevorden in 26th.
