Wheelchair track racer Angie Ballard has continued her stellar form overseas after posting two new world records in Switzerland.

Having set a new T53 400m world record only days prior at the IPC Athletics Grand Prix, Ballard was at it again at the Daniela Jutzeler Memorial in Arbon where she claimed another T53 400m world record and set a new world record in the T53 800m.

Ballard’s T53 400m time of 54.70 was 0.03 seconds faster than her previous best, while the new world record time of 1:47.48 in the T53 800m bettered the eight year old mark of 1:49.82 previously set by American Jessica Galli.

Ballard’s gold medals in both events were complemented by three silver medals in three events from fellow NSWIS athlete Rosemary Little.

The Daniela Jutzeler Memorial was followed by the Swiss Open Nationals, where Ballard and Little were once again in the medals.

Ballard claimed gold in the women’s T53-54 200m and 400m, and silver in the T53-54 100m, while Little claimed silver medals in the women’s T33-34 100m, 200m, 400m and 800m events.
