The Australian men’s under-19 basketball team has finished fourth at the 2013 FIBA U19 World Championships in the Czech Republic.

After finishing fourth in the second group stage, the Australians, led by NSWIS Basketball Program Head Coach Damian Cotter, faced Spain in a must-win clash. In one of the upsets of the tournament Australia defeated Spain 87-76.

The team then suffered a narrow 63-58 loss to Serbia in the semi-finals, setting up a date with Lithuania in the bronze medal match.

Including NSWIS athletes Fabijan Krslovic and Michael Rowley, as well as NSWIS graduates Jonah Bolden, Nicholas Duncan and Gerard Martin, the bronze medal match went to overtime before Lithuania pulled away to win 106-100.
