NSWIS snowboard cross athlete Belle Brockhoff has continued her impeccable form at Australia and New Zealand Cup (ANC) finals at Mt Hotham, claiming two out of two victories.

Brockhoff was one of five NSWIS athletes to claim top four positions in either of the two finals races on a day where rain and fog at Hotham threatened to prevent the event from commencing.

After enjoying her most successful world cup season to date, Brockhoff came to the competition full of confidence and delivered in spades. Her two victories ensured that she continues to be the most dominant athlete at this event since 2012.

In the men’s event it was dual Olympian Alex ‘Chumpy’ Pullin, a nine-time ANC champion, who was at the centre of the action, and not always for the right reason. In the first race Pullin was trailing Matt Thomas, who subsequently fell and left the NSWIS athlete with nowhere to go but down with him.

Their loss allowed Duncan Campbell of New Zealand and Senna Leith of the USA to progress to the final where they claimed second and third respectively. NSWIS athlete Adam Lambert followed them home in fourth.

In the men’s second race it was Pullin who made reparations, making it to the final to win the race ahead of fellow NSWIS snowboard cross athlete Adam Dickson.

Meanwhile in the women’s events it was an NSWIS in first and fourth in the first race as Ellise Turner came in behind Brockhoff, the only final to contain two NSWIS athletes.

With the ANC now finished, Brockhoff is confident that her progress has her on track to improve again in the upcoming world cup season.

“I’m really happy with what I achieved during the last season,” Brockhoff said.

“It was goals I set for myself along with the advice of my coaches to achieve this year. I feel I’m on track with the larger goals I have and I am really excited for this coming tour.”
