Jessica Fox has kicked off the 2015 season in style by taking out the women’s K1 national championship in Victoria.

Fox held off a charge from fellow NSWIS athlete Rosalyn Lawrence and sister Noemie to claim gold, successfully defending her title from 2014, while also winning the under-23 women’s K1 event to secure the K1 double.

Lawrence went one better in the women’s C1 event by taking out gold, with Fox adding gold in the under-23 C1 to her list of achievements, while Ian Borrows won bronze in the men’s C1.

National team selection continues next weel at the 2015 Australian Open, taking place from 13-15 February in Penrith.
