The first canoe sprint world cup of the season took place in Szeged, Hungary over the weekend, with two NSWIS athletes competing.

Olympian Naomi Flood was the best placed of the NSWIS athletes, finishing fifth in the women’s K1 1000m and ninth in the women’s K2 500m, with Lachlan Tame second in the B final of the men’s K1 500m and fourth in the C final of the men’s K1 200m.

The next world cup begins on Friday in Racice, Czech Republic.
