Three NSWIS athletes have been crowned national champions on the third day of competition at the 2011 Australian Track Cycling Championships in Sydney.

Jackson Law followed on from his brother’s victory in the men’s omnium by taking honours in the men’s under-19 3000m individual pursuit. Law posted a time of 3:17.913 seconds to nudge Victorian Alexander Morgan into second place.

Fellow NSWIS athlete Tirian McManus finished fourth in the individual pursuit before going on to win silver in the under-19 men’s scratch race, where fellow NSWIS athlete Caleb Ewan claimed bronze.

Scott Law continued to impress by taking silver in the men’s 1000m time trial. Scott clocked a time of 1:03.360.

World champion Kaarle McCulloch started her year off on the right track, winning gold in the women’s team sprint with fellow NSWIS athlete Cassandra Kell. The pair outlasted Anna Meares and Stephanie Morton to win gold in 34.132 seconds.

Elsewhere, NSWIS athlete Rochelle Gilmore claimed stage honours in the first stage of the 2011 Ladies’ Tour of Qatar.
