Three NSWIS athletes were crowned national champions at the 2013 Australian Canoe Slalom Championships in Victoria over the weekend.

Rosalyn Lawrence was the pick of the athletes, winning gold medals in the women’s K1 and women’s C2, teaming up with Sarah Grant to take the team’s title, while also finishing fourth in the women’s C1.

Olympic silver medallist Jessica Fox was also in action, taking gold in the women’s C1, silver in the women’s C2 with fellow NSWIS athlete Alison Borrows, and bronze in the women’s K1.


Fox’s younger sister Noemie also showed her class in the rapids, winning bronze in the women’s C1 and finishing fourth in the women’s K1.

The men’s events saw NSWIS athlete Lucien Delfour claim silver in the men’s K1 before teaming with fellow NSWIS athlete Ian Borrows in the men’s C2 to secure silver.

Ethan Hodson won silver in the men’s C1 to round out the results.
