NSWIS Snowboarder Tess Coady fought through some immense weather conditions on her World Cup debut in the US Snowboard & Free-Skiing Grand Prix in Mammoth Mountain, CA this weekend.

The majority of events were shortened or cancelled because of the inclement weather, with over a foot of snow and gusts of over 100 km/h causing havoc.

The women’s Snowboard Slopestyle was able to be completed in full however, and 16-year-old Coady shone on her debut World Cup appearance securing a 6th place finish.

Coady said, “I really had no expectations going into the world cup today other than to come away with a positive experience and that I definitely did.”
