Set to be worn on the world stage in Glasgow, the Australian Team’s 2026 green and gold uniform has been unveiled in Sydney by Commonwealth Games Australia and Valour.

The design, revealed at the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia, combines technical innovation with cultural expression and national identity, marking the next evolution of Australian high-performance apparel on the world stage.

Valour – who is also the New South Wales Institute of Sport’s (NSWIS) Performance Partner – will provide podium and village wear for Team Members, along with competition wear for selected sports, reflecting a strong focus on performance, athlete collaboration and representing Australia on the world stage.

Featuring advanced fabric technology which weaves First Nations designs directly into the fabric construction, the embedded elements create a subtle 3D texture that feels both modern and deeply meaningful, in a considered blend of innovation and culture, that honours Indigenous storytelling while supporting elite performance.

The competition wear also features bold prints inspired by Australia’s native animals, with vibrant greens and yellows reflecting the country’s landscapes and coastlines, with textural elements drawn from natural patterns that further reinforce the connection to the environment.

Together, the uniform is a confident expression of the Australian Team, bringing together performance, culture and national identity ahead of Glasgow 2026.

Birmingham 2022 two-time gold medallist Ellen Fife reflected on the significance of the new Australian Team uniform and what it represents ahead of Glasgow 2026.

“I know how much it means to represent Australia on the world stage, and this new uniform for Glasgow 2026 really captures that pride,” Fife said.

“The design is something truly special. It’s not just about performance and comfort, although it absolutely delivers on both, but also about the story it tells.

“Seeing First Nations designs woven into the fabric itself is incredibly powerful and respectful, and it gives every athlete wearing it a real sense of connection to Australia’s culture and identity.

“I’m proud to be part of a team stepping out in a kit that reflects who we are as athletes and as a nation.”

With excitement building ahead of Glasgow 2026, Australian Team Chef de Mission Petria Thomas OAM OLY said the uniform captures the pride and spirit of the Australian team.

“The Australian Team competition uniform for Glasgow 2026 is outstanding. It reflects the pride, strength and unity of our athletes, while delivering the performance innovation they need to compete at the highest level,” Thomas said.

“Working with Valour, we’ve created a uniform that not only looks distinctly Australian, but also supports our athletes to feel confident, comfortable and ready to perform on the world stage.”

Inspired by the pride of representing Australia on the global stage, Valour Director Ryan Tesoriero said the design reflects a deep focus on both performance and identity.

“This uniform has been designed with the athlete at the centre of every decision,” Tesoriero said.

“We’re incredibly proud to outfit the Australian Team for Glasgow 2026 and feel there’s something genuinely meaningful about Australian athletes wearing innovative high-performance apparel created by Aussies, for Aussies.

“Every piece of uniform technology developed for the Australian 2026 Commonwealth Games Team will be introduced to the clubs, associations, schools and young athletes Valour supplies around Australia as part of a shared commitment to Australian sport and the thread that connects us.”

The Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games will take place from July 23 to August 2, 2026.
