NSWIS snowboarder Holly Crawford has continued her strong form at world championship level by taking silver in the women’s half-pipe at the 2013 FIS Snowboard World Championships.

Crawford, who won silver in 2009 and gold in 2011, fell narrowly short of successfully defending her title from two years ago, tallying 77.25 points to fall just 1.75 points shy of gold, but nearly five points ahead of third.

Fellow NSWIS athlete Nathan Johnstone, who has defending his title in the men’s snowboard half-pipe, finished seventh.

Earlier in the meet, reigning Olympic champion and NSWIS athlete Torah Bright won bronze in the women’s snowboard slopestyle to signal a welcome return to form ahead of next year’s Olympic Winter Games.
