Three NSWIS athletes have come away with medals at the conclusion of the Medemblik leg of the 2011/12 ISAF Sailing World Cup.

NSWIS sailor Jessica Crisp went into the medal race of the women’s RS:X in fourth position, only 10 points adrift of first place. In a strong display of technique and determination, Crisp finished third in the medal race to secure silver overall.

Paralympic team members Stephen Churm and Jonathon Harris were also in action in Holland, finishing with bronze in the sonar class.

The duo joined compatriot Colin Harrison in the three-man event, entering the medal race in second before finishing eighth to take bronze overall. The event was just their second together as a crew, a promising sign ahead of the 2012 Paralympic Games.

Also in action were NSWIS athletes Matthew and Robert Crawford, with the pair finishing seventh in the men’s 470.
