NSWIS athletes Caleb Ewan and Aaron Donnelly have made bright starts to 2013 with excellent results at cycling events in Victoria.

Ewan’s first place finish at the 2013 Mitchelton Bay Cycling Classic was the pick of the NSWIS duo, with the 18 year old securing a nine point victory after three days of racing.

Ewan won the first stage before finishing sixth and fifth in stages two and three, respectively, to secure the overall trophy with 23 points.

Fellow NSWIS athlete Rochelle Gilmore finished seventh overall in the women’s general classification.

Elsewhere, NSWIS athlete Donnelly finished runner up in the general classification of the Jayco Herald Sun Tour. 

Donnelly finished a mere 37 seconds behind eventual winner Calvin Watson, winning the first stage before finishing outside the top 10 in stages two and three to finish second overall.
