NSWIS athlete Kaarle McCulloch is one of 16 cyclists chosen on the Australian Cyclones cycling team for the London round of the 2011/12 UCI Track Cycling World Cup.

McCulloch will likely pair with Anna Meares in the women’s team sprint as the duo looks to continue their domination in the event; together they have won world championship gold medals in 2009, 2010 and 2011.

The event doubles as the official cycling test event for the 2012 London Olympic Games, giving riders the crucial experience of what it’s like to race in the Olympic velodrome ahead of the Games.

"This will be our only opportunity to race on the Olympic velodrome and familiarise both athletes and staff with the environment ahead of the Games," says Cycling Australia’s national performance director Kevin Tabotta.
