NSWIS discus thrower Dani Stevens is hitting good form and feeling confident following her 2nd place at the IAAF Diamond League in Shanghai on Saturday.

The former World and Commonwealth Champion threw 66.47m in the third round to take second place in a strong field and was in good spirits after the meet.

“I love throwing here. It’s a good circle and always a good competition” Stevens said.

“It’s nice to be consistent at 66-metres now.”

Her attention is now focussed on the World Championships in London in August.

“I’m headed home now to keep preparing for London. I’m remaining in Australia this year, and then coming in to the team camp in August,” Stevens added.

“I won’t be without competition though, there will be opportunities for me in Sydney and I have another few events scheduled in Queensland as well.”
