NSWIS canoe slalom paddler Lucien Delfour won a historic bronze medal at the Pau, France leg of the 2012 ICF Canoe Slalom World Cup, while fellow NSWIS athlete Jessica Fox continued her Olympic preparations.

Delfour’s first ever world cup medal came in the men’s K1 event on the second day of competition. Entering the final as the seventh fastest qualifier, the 25 yeard olf clocked a time of 104.11 seconds to secure bronze in the second world cup of the season.

Fellow NSWIS athlete Fox continued her preparations for the 2012 Olympic Games by finishing eighth in the women’s K1, while Rosalyn Lawrence looked set to win gold in the women’s C1 before a late penalty forced her out of the medals.
