The Australian men’s and women’s hockey teams have enjoyed success at the annual International Super Series Hockey 9s in Perth, with both teams winning gold.

The Australian women’s team breezed through the opening two matches of the tournament, running out 8-0 winners against Malaysia and 7-0 winners over Canada, before notching a 3-3 draw with Argentina.

The Hockeyroos then faced Argentina again to decide the winner of the tournament, with the Australians taking victory 3-0, with Eastham scoring the final goal.

The men’s team, featuring NSWIS athletes Simon Orchard and Matthew Butturini, drew the opening match of their campaign 4-4 with Argentina, before cruising past Malaysia with an 8-0 win and accounting for Pakistan 2-0.

Much like the women’s team, the Australian men’s team faced Argentina in the final and put on a goal scoring displaying, trouncing their opponents 9-4 to make it a double delight for Australian hockey.
