History was made on Saturday in Calgary as two Australians, and two NSWIS athletes, stood on top of a World Cup moguls podium for the first time.

Britt Cox put together a flawless run to take the women’s gold, and was followed by Matt Graham winning the men’s title. The two 22-year-olds first met on the slopes 14 years ago and now lead the world with the PyeongChang Winter Olympics just over a year away.

Cox has been victorious in three of the first four World Cup events of the season, and was dominant throughout on a tricky technical course. Her error free final round of 82.11 points was a full two points clear of reigning Olympic champion Justine Dufour-Lapointe in second.

Graham won only his second ever World Cup title with a stunning final run – including a huge 1080 off-axis spin off the lower jump – to take the title with 85.34 points.

Cox said, “Each time I win, it’s more and more motivating. The course in Calgary is very technical because the pitch changes midway and becomes steeper.

“In previous years, I’ve found the course to be challenging but now I can attack it more aggressively.’’

Graham thanked all his supporters on Instagram for their support and said he and Cox, “couldn’t be more stoked.”

The two are now on their way to Utah for the next round of the World Cup tour on Thursday and Saturday.
