The Australian men’s under-19 basketball team, the Emus, led by NSWIS coach Damian Cotter, have recorded another win at the 2011 FIBA U19 World Championships, this time against Brazil 63-57.

A lacklustre shooting performance from both teams saw a low scoring match, but it was Australia who found the upperhand by outscoring their lengthy opponents in the third and fourth quarters. NSWIS graduate Jackson Aldridge contributed solidly in attack and defense, scoring nine points and pulling down six rebounds.

Australia will play Poland in their next round of 16 match before the knock-out phase gets underway.
