The Australian men’s under-19 basketball team, the Emus, has been announced before the team tours Croatia and Russia in the lead up to this year’s world championships.

Three NSWIS athletes were among those named; Jackson Aldridge, Andrija Dumovic, Daniel Trist. Damian Cotter, Head Coach of the NSWIS Basketball Program, will lead the team as they play a series of warm up games in Europe before the 2011 FIBA Men’s Under-19 World Championships.

"I’m looking forward to getting the kids on the court and getting some game experience: that’s the number one. The goal that we want to get out of the first leg, with Croatia, is to refine our structure both offensively and defensively in our preparations for the World Championship," said Cotter.

The 2011 FIBA Men’s Under-19 World Championship takes place in Latvia from June 30 – July 10.
