NSWIS athlete Kurt Fearnley won his 10th Sydney Marathon over the weekend after taking gold in commanding fashion.

The 2014 Commonwealth Games silver medallist crossed the line in a time of 1:41.23 to secure his sixth consecutive Sydney Marathon victory, defeating Richard Nicholson and Richard Colman to the top of the podium.

The win was Fearnley’s 36th marathon victory from 56 marathons, and he will next target the Chicago Marathon which takes place on October 12th in the USA.

Fearnley’s fellow NSWIS athlete Christie Dawes was the lone female entrant in the wheelchair event, crossing the line in a time of 2:03.11.
