Kurt Fearnley’s strong lead in to the 2012 London Paralympic Games remains on track after finishing second at the Boston Marathon.

Fearnley, who finished second in the 2011 Boston Marathon, finished behind Canadian Josh Cassidy in a time of one hour, 21 minutes and 39 seconds, just over three minutes outside of the first place.

"It’s always disappointing to finish second but I couldn’t have done much more out there today" Fearnley said.

“Full credit to Josh today, he pushed the perfect race, taking advantage early and pushing on well."

Fearnley will now turn his attention to a series of events in Europe before returning to Australia to prepare for the 2012 Paralympic Games.
