NSWIS wheelchair track & road athlete Kurt Fearnley has posted a second-place finish in the Chicago Marathon overnight, falling just short of gold.

The four-time Chicago Marathon winner was part of a 12-strong pack of racers heading into the final kilometre and crossed the line in one hour, 32 minutes and 13 seconds. His time was a mere one second behind the eventual winner, matching his result from last year’s marathon,

Fearnley will now turn his attention to the New York Marathon on November 2nd, where he will seek his fifth win and his first since 2009.
