NSWIS paddler Jessica Fox has finished atop the women’s C1 division of the 2013 ICF Canoe Slalom World Cup after another gold at the final event in Slovakia.

Coming off a history making performance last week, where Fox became the first woman to win C1 and K1 gold at the same world cup event, the Olympic silver medallist continued her fine form by producing another golden run in the women’s C1.

Fox claimed C1 gold in 119.59, 11 seconds ahead of her nearest competitor, with fellow NSWIS athlete Rosalyn Lawrence finishing sixth and Alison Borrows finishing 17th.

Fox was not far from making it another double in the women’s K1 before finishing ninth after a series of penalties, eventually ending her world cup campaign ranked second in the women’s K1 standings. Lawrence narrowly missed out on a finals berth.

The men’s events saw several NSWIS athletes in action including Ian Borrows, who finished 11th in the men’s C1 semi-final; and Lucien Delfour and Will Forsythe who 20th and 21st in the men’s K1 semi-final respectively.
