Olympic medallist and NSWIS athlete Jess Fox has dominated the Oceania Canoe Slalom Championships in New Zealand over the last two days.

Fox was victorious in the K1 on Sunday, before dismantling the field in the C1 today.

Fox, who won silver at London 2012 and bronze in Rio, picked up a two second penalty in her final run in the K1 final – but still took the title by over a second.

She was even more dominant in the C1 event, picking up another penalty but still taking the title by an incredible 13 seconds.

This was Fox’s first time racing at the newly built Vector Wero Whitewater Park in Manukau, and she is happy to have another high class venue available in the Southern Hemisphere.

Fox said, “It’s been good to come out and discover a new course – it’s really challenging and we needed a few sessions to get used to it – but technically I’ve improved on downstream stopper moves and I’m looking forward to racing here again.”
