NSWIS paddler Jessica Fox added another feather to her cap over the weekend after triumphing in the women’s K1 at the 2015 ICF Junior & U23 World Championships in Brazil.

Fox finished fifth in the women’s C1 ahead of the K1 final but made no mistakes in the Olympic event, clocking 93.52 seconds to defend her world title by just over three seconds from Brazilian Ana Satila.

“I’m really happy with that run, I’m happy with the way I raced that race,” she said to Australian Canoeing.

“The whole week has been quite stressful, there was pressure, and there was expectation.”

Fox then added silver in the U23 women’s K1 team event alongside fellow NSWIS athlete Alison Borrows, while younger sister Noemie secured bronze in the junior women’s C1 and K1 team events.
