NSWIS cyclist Rochelle Gilmore has created history by becoming only the second female rider to win three Jayco Bay Cycling Classics after her second place finish in yesterday’s fourth and final stage in Victoria.

Gilmore finished behind Judith Arndt to claim 10 points, moving her total points tally to 39, 12 points clear of Arndt to claim the title and continue the form that saw her win gold at the 2010 Commonwealth Games and finish first overall in the recent NSW International Cycling Grand Prix.

Fellow NSWIS athlete Lauren Kitchen finished seventh overall in the general classification, and third in the women’s sprint classification.

The elite men’s classification saw Chris Sutton finish fourth in the final stage, securing a fifth place finish overall on 21 points, while fellow NSWIS athlete Graeme Brown finished second in the men’s sprint classification on 11 points.
