NSWIS athletes Naomi Flood, Murray Stewart and Jo Brigden-Jones have all won gold medals at the final world cup of the season in Moscow to continue their strong preparation for the 2012 London Olympic Games.

Flood was off the mark quickly by winning gold in the gruelling women’s K1 1000m, battling her Russian competitors into first while using her surf ski background to compete against strong winds. She then went on to finish fourth in the women’s K2 500m.

Fellow NSWIS athlete Murray Stewart followed Flood to the top of the medal dais by taking gold in the men’s K1 500m, as well as silver in the men’s K1 1000m and K4 1000m. Stewart also finished seventh in the men’s K1 200m.

Brigden-Jones wrapped up the weekend of strong results by finishing first in the women’s K2 200m, while also finishing fourth in the women’s K4 500m.
