NSWIS cyclists Alexandra Green and Jayme Paris have won gold medals at the 2012 UCI Para-Cycling World Track Championships, becoming the Institute’s latest world champions in the process.

Green triumphed in the women’s C4 3km individual pursuit, outlasting compatriot Susan Powell and Canadian Marie-Claude Molnar, to win gold in 4:09.112. Green then went on to finished fourth in the women’s C4 500m time trial and sixth in the women’s C4/C5 scratch race.

The strong results continued with Paris picking up gold medals in the women’s C1 3km individual pursuit and C1 500m time trial. Paris was the sole competitor in each event, however the two rides earned maximum qualification points for the 2012 London Paralympic Games.
