NSWIS swimmer Jayden Hadler has realised his Olympic dream by qualifying for the London Games in the men’s 200m individual medley at the 2012 Australian Swimming Championships.

Hadler finished second behind fellow NSWIS athlete Daniel Tranter, who earlier in the meet had secured a London berth in the men’s 400m individual medley, to book a ticket to his debut Olympic Games, with Kenneth To touching in fourth.

Earlier in the night Hadler also secured a berth in the final of the men’s 100m butterfly with a swim of 52.81. Hadler was sixth fastest into the final, with comeback king Geoff Huegill qualifying fifth for the final.

Four NSWIS athletes will line up in the final of the men’s 50m freestyle tonight. James Magnussen qualified fastest in 21.87, with Eamon Sullivan second, Matthew Abood third and Andrew Abood fifth.

The NSWIS multiclass swimmers continued to win medals at the championships last night; Tim Antalfy claimed gold in the men’s 50m backstroke, Jacqui Freney took bronze in the women’s 200m individual medley and Matthew Levy secured silver in the men’s 200m individual medley.
