Slopestyle skier Russ Henshaw has continued his strong form this season by taking gold in the men’s slopestyle at the 2012 Breckenridge Dew Tour.

Henshaw’s first run of 84.50 points was enough to secure gold in one of winter sport’s most exciting events, where competitors navigate a downhill course by grinding over rails and performing tricks from jumps.

Fellow NSWIS athletes Torah Bright, Holly Crawford and Nathan Johnstone were also competing at the event. Bright finished fourth in the women’s snowboard superpipe, with Crawford bowing out in the semi-finals, while Johnstone finished sixth in the men’s snowboard superpipe final.

Elsewhere, NSWIS snowboard cross athlete Alex Pullin continued his excellent preparation for next year’s world championships by finishing with silver following a photo-finish at a world cup event in Canada.

Pullin’s results were complemented by NSWIS athletes Katya Crema and Jenny Owens finishing sixth and 11th, respectively, in the women’s ski cross, with Scott Kneller and Anton Grimus finishing 11th and 19th, respectively in the men’s ski cross.
